8.7 Cardiovascular diseases

Purpose

The Cardiovascular Diseases course focuses on the recognition and emergency management of patients with acute or chronic cardiac conditions. Learners gain an understanding of common cardiovascular emergencies, risk factors aggravated by stress and flight conditions, and the principles of monitoring and early intervention to maintain hemodynamic stability during prehospital care and aeromedical transport.
