Purpose

The Burning Patient course addresses the aeromedical transport of patients with burn injuries, focusing on the physiological consequences of burns and the challenges posed by the aviation environment. Learners gain insight into fluid loss, pain management, infection risk, and temperature control, as well as the effects of altitude and cabin conditions on burn patients. Emphasis is placed on stabilization, monitoring, and safe handling to ensure optimal outcomes during aeromedical evacuation.
