5.17 Neonatal patient

Purpose

The Neonatal Patient course focuses on the highly specialized requirements of aeromedical transport for newborns. Learners gain an understanding of neonatal physiology, vulnerability to hypoxia, temperature instability, and rapid clinical changes, as well as the importance of appropriate monitoring, thermal protection, equipment use, and coordination to ensure safe and effective transport in this high-risk patient population.
