5.3 Respiratory Diseases

Purpose

The Respiratory Diseases course addresses the assessment and management of patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions during aeromedical evacuation. Learners gain an understanding of how altitude, reduced oxygen availability, and cabin environment can affect respiratory function, and are introduced to strategies for safe monitoring, oxygen administration, and risk mitigation during flight.
