5.15 Shock

Purpose

The Shock course focuses on the recognition and aeromedical management of patients in shock. Learners gain an understanding of the different types of shock, their physiological impact, and how flight-related factors such as hypoxia, vibration, and limited resources may worsen patient condition. Emphasis is placed on early identification, monitoring priorities, and supportive measures to maintain hemodynamic stability during aeromedical evacuation.
